Making simultaneous use of all the elements such as shape, patina, and wet on wet ink application— a new language emerges. The veining that occurs sometimes results from a calligraphic decision to let the brush bleed out onto the confines of a totemic emblem or shape. Other times, the veining occurs less predictably with a large wet surface, letting the shape take on its own unique patina.
