Exploring simultaneous elements such as shape, patina, and wet on wet ink application gave way to a new language. In this case, a modern structure with spires and rusty patina.

Often enough, the veining that occurs is the result of a calligraphic decision to let the brush bleed out onto the confines of a totemic emblem or shape. Other times, the veining develops less predictably within a large wet surface, letting the shape take on its own unique patina.
