Very few pieces combine abstract elements with figuration. In this piece, I consider the use of ancient miniatures humanoid shapes, found across continents from Africa to the Cyclades. A vessel taking on the vague appearance of a person, and used as an emblem of trust and allegiances, an amulet warding off evil forces in the face of the unknown, or a token of affection perhaps.
